Florence Griffith-Joyner

An American track and field star Florence Griffith-Joyner also called Flo-Jo as her nick name became famous, because she was the fastest woman of all time. At the age of 38 she died of epilepsy in 1998. In 1988 she still holds the world record for both 100m and 200m. She also ran in the 4*100m and 4*400m relay team. In 1988, James E.Sullivan awards her as the top amateur athlete in USA and she wins gold in the former event and silver in the latter. After short time, she retired from competitive sports. In 1996, she announced her comeback to competitive athletics only for 400m. However, tendinitis in her right leg ended her hopes of becoming a triple world record holder. In addition to this, she was accused of using performance-enhancing drugs but she did not die from drugs or banned substances. Finally, she joined in other activities such as basketball uniforms for Indiana Pacers in 1989. In my opinion, my favorite female sports person is Flo-Jo because she entered the sporting history in the world
